Now the best of horror for 2016 has been done and dusted, you know it's only fair I now continue the movies of 2016 with the worst horror movies of 2016.
You know the drill ...
1 - The following films are in no particular order and are not reviews, just some notes on why i enjoyed them and why you may enjoy them
2 - The list comprises of films that I feel I could watch multiple times, not necessarily the films with great reviews or well made
3 - The following is MY opinion and my opinion alone.
With that out of the way let's get the ball rolling ...

Lights Out - David Sandberg and Jose G. Ramos
Lights Out is based off the short film of the same name, which also directed by Sandberg and that's the only similarities between the two.
The short film was short and sweet and got the viewer engrossed in the subject. The 'monster' was creepy and left a lasting impression.
This film was the complete opposite and it shouldn't have been based off the short film and just released as it's own independent film because at least then it wouldn't have been AS disappointing.
Full of typical jump scares, 'spooky' music and plenty of darkness, Lights Out is one you won't be missing any time soon.

The Conjuring 2 - James Wan
Although unlike many others I actually found the sequel to be much better than the original, but don't let that fool you, by no means was this a good film.
The Conjuring 2 is predictable and boring and my god that ending was pathetic.

Blair Witch - Adam Wingard
The Blair Witch was one film I had my doubts for and it turns out I had every right to have those doubts.
Being such a large fan of the original film it was a large let down for me to see that this is what they had come up with for a sequel.
It was boring, predictable and everything cliche form horror films mushed into one. What was so successful in the original is that the audience never saw the Blair Witch and this left an unsettling feeling to viewer, in this pathetic excuse for a sequel you do see what is supposed to be the witch but it's laughable and adds nothing to the film.
Do yourselves a favour, if you were a fan of the original do not see this one at any cost...

Martyrs - Kevin and Michael Goetz
Martyrs is a remake of the french-canadian film of the same name. The original was successful with critics world wide because it was extreme, it was different it was shock value done right, so when it was announced there was a remake being made a lot of people, myself included had their doubts.
Boy were we right to have those doubts, the changes, the acting, the overall film was terrible. Another film they should have let alone. We don't need remakes or reboots or a thousand sequels, we need imagination and creativity and we need it done right.
Do not waste your time with this trash, watch the original and forget this one exists ...

The Other Side Of The Door - Johannes Roberts
Save yourself the time and just don't watch it. It's not even worth my time typing this message to you...it's horrible, it's laughable and it's by no means a horror film.
Just don't watch it !
Well everyone that concludes my list of the worst horror films of 2016!
