Well the year has come to an end and we've had many up's and down's in the movie genre that we know of as Horror.
So it's about time I brought to you what is my list of Fave horror movies for the year.
A few quick points before we get started:
1 - The following films are in no particular order and are not reviews, just some notes on why i enjoyed them and why you may enjoy them
2 - The list comprises of films that I feel I could watch multiple times, not necessarily the films with great reviews or well made
3 - The following is MY opinion and my opinion alone.
With that being said, let's get the list rolling ...

31 - Rob Zombie
Ok so it wasn't the greatest movie ever made and by no means was it the best Rob Zombie film ever made but i did still enjoy it.
Sure the ending gave me the shits and i'm getting really sick of seeing Sherri Moon Zombie in his films but overall it is watchable and if not for the story then at least just for Richard Brake.
If you're not a fan of Zombies' films then i wouldn't recommend you seeing it as it does still have all the cliche' Zombie attributes, weirdness, blood, a lot of noise but if you don't mind a Zombie film now and then and have yet to see 31 then at least give it a go.
Who knows, you may be pleasantly surprised...

Hush - Mike Flanagan
Hush was an interesting one, started off very well. it's quiet, it's a little different and I felt it was engaging, at least it was a very good film until the killer was revealed.
Not that the film fell too short once he was revealed, but I felt he was revealed too early. If they had kept his mask on for the majority of the film, I feel it would have given a better atmosphere and made this film go from good to great.
I did still enjoy it none the less and feel it's the kind of movie i'll watch alone in the dark because you know, why wouldn't you want to add more to the atmosphere...

The Autopsy of Jane Doe - André Øvredal
The autopsy of jane doe has received outstanding reviews online and although I don't believe it deserved as high of a review it's gotten, it's by no means a horrible movie.
The first half of this film is very engaging, it's dark, it's a little spooky, it's sad and then it goes down hill will some CGI that wasn't needed and some typical horror cliches but it does pick up again.
It's been a long time since I watched a horror movie where I didn't predict the ending and that's what I enjoyed the most about this film. it is a breath of fresh air and that's why it's made it to my list ...

Green Room - Jeremy Saulnier
Green Room was one I enjoyed a lot more than I thought I would, it was an interesting film that kept me engaged from start to end.
A subject matter that's not as common these days and something a little different, Green Room was one i could i could see my self watching time and time again. If you are yet to see Green Room then I suggest you do so as it is a solid film and not full of the typical 'jump scares' and ' CGI effects' you see being thrown into horror movies days

Don't Breathe - Fede Alvarez
Don't Breathe was one I really enjoyed with the exception of 2 things
- the added couple minutes of footage that was added at the end
- the gun with never ending bullets
Which I know would make it seem like it shouldn't be on this list. the reason it made it to my list is because overall it was still an enjoyable movie and I can see myself watching it time and time again.
Don't Breathe is one to check out if you haven't already
Well that's it, we've come to the end of the list. What about you? do you agree or disagree with the list? Any you would have added or replaced?
